Human SFN/14-3-3 sigma ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie intended for the quantification of human SFN (14-3-3 Sigma). Compatible sample types listed by the manufacturer are serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich configuration; colorimetric readout is achieved with TMB substrate and absorbance is measured at 450 nm after the stop reaction.

Stated sensitivity is 46.875 pg/mL and the stated range is 78.125–5000 pg/mL. The kit is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. Reported linearity, tested in spiked matrices at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions (n=5), was 86–97%, 88–92% and 93–99% in serum; 85–99%, 88–101% and 90–97% in EDTA plasma; and 80–96%, 87–99% and 80–98% in heparin plasma. Average recovery (n=5) was 92% in serum (range 86–99%), 93% in EDTA plasma (range 89–98%) and 93% in heparin plasma (range 86–105%).

SFN is also referred to as 14-3-3 protein sigma, Stratifin, HME1, YWHAS and Epithelial cell marker protein 1, and corresponds to UniProt P31947. The manufacturer describes the protein as participating in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis and signal transduction, with dysregulation implicated in cancer, Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.
