Human Serum paraoxonase/arylesterase 2 (PON2) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human serum paraoxonase/arylesterase 2 (PON2) levels, using a colorimetric detection method. The assay is reactive with human samples and has been tested with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

According to the manufacturer, the detection range is 0.312–20 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.11 ng/mL. Intra-assay precision is reported at 4.4% CV and inter-assay precision at 7.8% CV. Linearity has been validated across serial dilutions (1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16) of serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples, and recovery averages 96% (range 90–102%) in serum and 98% (range 92–104%) in plasma. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human PON2.

PON2 is an enzyme that hydrolyzes lactones and certain aromatic carboxylic acid esters and has antioxidant activity. It is not associated with high-density lipoprotein, prevents LDL lipid peroxidation, reverses the oxidation of mildly oxidized LDL, and inhibits the ability of MM-LDL to induce monocyte chemotaxis.
