Human Serum amyloid P-component (APCS) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Serum Amyloid P-component (APCS) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay detects natural and recombinant human APCS and is intended for research use only.

The kit provides a detection range of 6.25-400 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 3.0 ng/mL. Reported precision values include an intra-assay CV of 4.7% and an inter-assay CV of 8.6%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum (99-109%, 86-95%, 104-114%, 105-114% at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, 1:16 dilutions), EDTA plasma (87-99%, 111-121%, 106-116%, 106-116%), and heparin plasma (81-94%, 110-118%, 92-102%, 95-105%). Recovery is reported as 102% (range 96-108%) for serum and 104% (range 98-110%) for plasma.

APCS is a pentraxin family glycoprotein organised as a homopentamer. It may interact with DNA and histones, scavenging nuclear material released from damaged circulating cells, and can also function as a calcium-dependent lectin. The target is catalogued under UniProt P02743 and is of interest for research in inflammation, autoimmune disease, and biomarker discovery.
