Human Serpin A12 (SERPINA12) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the accurate measurement of human Serpin A12 (SERPINA12) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. Serpin A12, also referred to as Vaspin, OL-64, visceral adipose tissue-derived serine protease inhibitor, or visceral adipose-specific serpin, is a secreted member of the serpin family. The protein functions as an adipokine that modulates insulin action by specifically inhibiting its target protease KLK7 in white adipose tissues, and it forms a stable complex with KLK7. Elevated Serpin A12 levels have been associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, making this analyte a valuable biomarker for research into metabolic disorders, inflammation and cardiovascular health.

The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human Serpin A12, with a reported detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.1% and inter-assay CV is 6.9%. Dilutional linearity in serum (N=5) spans 87–96% at 1:2 to 96–109% at 1:16, with corresponding ranges also reported for EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery values average 99% (range 93–105%) in serum and 101% (range 95–107%) in plasma. The protocol uses a microplate reader set to 450 nm. For research use only.
