Human Serotransferrin (TF) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human serotransferrin (TF) in human serum and plasma samples, and is also reported as suitable for tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human serotransferrin and is labelled for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 1.56-100ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.78ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and inter-assay CV of 9.6%. Linearity was evaluated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions (N=5) in serum (117-127% down to 93-104%), EDTA plasma (109-120% down to 97-109%) and heparin plasma (88-97% up to 107-115%) across the dilution series. Recovery averaged 101% (range 95-107%) in serum and 103% (range 97-109%) in plasma. Serotransferrin is described as an iron-binding transport protein that binds two Fe(3+) ions in association with an anion and is responsible for transporting iron from sites of absorption and heme degradation to those of storage and utilization.
