Description

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase PP1-alpha catalytic subunit (PPP1CA) in biological samples. The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

Detection is by ELISA. The kit covers a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, with a sensitivity of 0.15 ng/mL. Reported precision is an intra-assay CV of 4.6% and an inter-assay CV of 8.0%. Linearity in serum (N=5) spans 93–114% across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions, EDTA plasma spans 80–115%, and heparin plasma spans 95–111% across the same dilution series. Average recovery is 93% (range 87–99%) in serum and 95% (range 89–101%) in plasma.

The reagents recognise natural and recombinant human PPP1CA (UniProt P62136). According to supplier information, PPP1CA is a serine/threonine phosphatase that associates with over 200 regulatory proteins to form highly specific holoenzymes; it is essential for cell division and participates in the regulation of glycogen metabolism, muscle contractility, protein synthesis, ionic conductances and long-term synaptic plasticity. Dysregulation of PPP1CA has been implicated in cancer, metabolic disorders and neurodegenerative conditions. The kit is listed for Cardiovascular research and is for research use only.
