Description

Assay Genie provides a sandwich-format ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of human Serine/threonine-protein kinase TAO1 (TAOK1), also known as Thousand-and-one amino acid protein kinase 1. TAOK1 is a serine/threonine-protein kinase implicated in the p38/MAPK14 stress-activated MAPK cascade, the DNA damage response, and regulation of cytoskeleton stability, acting through phosphorylation of MAP2K3, MAP2K6, and MARK2. The assay is intended for use with human samples including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids, and recognises both natural and recombinant human TAOK1.

The kit delivers a detection range of 78-5000 pg/ml with a reported sensitivity of 39 pg/mL using a colorimetric readout. Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 8.1% and an inter-assay CV of 10.4%. Linearity in serum (N=5) spans 101-110% at 1:2 dilution through 107-117% at 1:16 dilution. Recovery averages 92% (range 86-98%) for serum and 94% (range 88-100%) for plasma. TAOK1 is localised to the cytoplasm (UniProt Q7L7X3) and belongs to the STE20 subfamily of protein kinases.
