Human Serine/threonine-protein kinase RIO1 (RIOK1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative detection of Human Serine/threonine-protein kinase RIO1 (RIOK1), also known as RIO kinase 1 or RIO1. The assay is reactive with human samples and uses a colorimetric ELISA detection method to measure natural and recombinant human RIOK1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

RIOK1 is an atypical protein kinase reported to be involved in the final steps of cytoplasmic maturation of the 40S ribosomal subunit, in processing of 18S-E pre-rRNA to the mature 18S rRNA, and in the recycling of NOB1 and PNO1 from the late 40S precursor. The catalytic activity is proposed to regulate its dynamic association with the 40S subunit, and in addition to its role in ribosomal biogenesis RIOK1 acts as an adapter protein by recruiting NCL/nucleolin to the PRMT5 complex for symmetrical methylation. The protein is localised in the cytoplasm and cytosol and associates with the precursor of the 40S ribosome subunit, forming a complex with PRMT5 and WDR77.

The kit reports a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.088ng/mL. Intra-assay CV, inter-assay CV, linearity and recovery values are provided with the kit. For research use only.
