Human Serine Peptidase Inhibitor Kazal Type 1 (SPINK1) ELISA Kit

Built to quantify Serine Peptidase Inhibitor Kazal Type 1 (SPINK1) in human specimens, this Assay Genie ELISA kit uses a two-antibody absorbance-based protocol read on a standard microplate reader. SPINK1, also known as pancreatic secretory trypsin inhibitor (PSTI) and tumor-associated trypsin inhibitor (TATI), is a secreted protein best known for blocking inappropriate trypsin activation within the pancreatic acinar cell, and mutations such as N34S are linked to hereditary and chronic pancreatitis as well as elevated pancreatic cancer risk in carrier studies. Research applications include profiling circulating SPINK1 concentrations in patient cohorts with pancreatitis, cystic fibrosis, and several solid tumors where it has been investigated as a serum biomarker, as well as mechanistic studies of serine protease regulation in gastrointestinal tissues. The kit contains a pre-coated microplate, lyophilized standards, detection antibody, and assay buffer sufficient for 96 assays, with reagents intended for research use only and stored refrigerated until first use.
