Human Semaphorin-5A (SEMA5A) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Semaphorin-5A (SEMA5A) using a colorimetric detection method. The kit is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant human Semaphorin-5A.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.156 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.3% and an inter-assay CV of 6.5%. Recovery averages 86% (range 80-92%) in serum and 88% (range 82-94%) in plasma. Linearity for serum at dilutions 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5) is reported as 88-98%, 116-128%, 105-115% and 114-124% respectively.

SEMA5A is a bifunctional axonal guidance cue regulated by sulfated proteoglycans, with attractive effects mediated through interactions with heparan sulfate proteoglycans and inhibitory effects dependent on chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans. It is a ligand for receptor PLXNB3 and is described as a single-pass type I membrane protein with a molecular weight of 120,615 Da. For research use only.
