Human Semaphorin-4D (SEMA4D) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative measurement of human Semaphorin-4D (SEMA4D). The assay is intended for use with human samples including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Detection is performed by colorimetric ELISA on a dismountable microplate.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 0.36 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.78-50 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 6.1% and inter-assay CV is 10.3%. Linearity across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma ranges from 85% to 120% at dilutions between 1:2 and 1:16. Spike-and-recovery performance is reported as 97% average (range 91-103%) for serum and 99% average (range 93-105%) for plasma. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Semaphorin-4D (UniProt Q92854).

Semaphorin-4D is a single-pass type I membrane protein that functions as a cell-surface receptor and plays an important role in cell-cell signalling. It promotes reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, regulates axon and dendrite branching, and supports the migration of cerebellar granule cells and endothelial cells. The protein is also implicated in immune responses, B-cell aggregation and viability, and has been associated with inflammation, autoimmune disease and cancer.
