This Assay Genie immunoassay enables quantitative measurement of P-selectin glycoprotein ligand 1 (PSGL-1/SELPLG) in human-derived research specimens. The 96-assay configuration supports a full standard curve plus multiple replicates, fitting studies of leukocyte adhesion, selectin-mediated rolling, and inflammatory cascades relevant to sepsis, sickle cell disease, and atherosclerosis. Validated for use with serum-derived and plasma-derived research samples, the assay delivers an absorbance-based read-out on standard microplate instrumentation.
PSGL-1 is a transmembrane mucin expressed on leukocytes and plays a central role in tethering and rolling on activated endothelium; measuring its soluble form or surface levels provides insight into immune cell activation. Reagents include a pre-coated plate, biotinylated detection reagent, recombinant standards, streptavidin conjugate, wash buffer, and substrate solution. Refrigerated storage of components and a brief room-temperature equilibration before use help preserve reagent performance across the workflow. Each kit contains materials for 96 individual determinations with intra- and inter-assay precision documented in the lot-specific certificate of analysis.
