Human Selenoprotein S (SELS) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Selenoprotein S (SELS) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit detects natural and recombinant human Selenoprotein S with a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 17pg/mL, supporting reproducible quantification in research applications.

Selenoprotein S is involved in the degradation of misfolded endoplasmic reticulum (ER) luminal proteins, acting as a linker between DERL1 and the ATPase complex VCP to retrotranslocate misfolded substrates into the cytosol for ubiquitin-dependent proteasomal destruction. The target is a single-pass transmembrane protein localised to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and cytoplasm, with a calculated and observed molecular weight of 21kDa (UniProt Q9BQE4). Known synonyms include VCP-interacting membrane protein, AD-015, SBBI8, SelS, SELS and VIMP.
