Human SELENBP1/Selenium Binding Protein 1 ELISA Kit

This colorimetric sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Selenium Binding Protein 1 (SELENBP1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Using a double-antibody configuration, the assay targets a protein also known by the synonyms SBP, SBP56, SP56, and 56 kDa selenium-binding protein — a selenium-binding protein associated in the literature with antioxidant defense and implicated in cancer, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic disorders.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. Linearity has been characterised in serum (n=5) at 86-90% (1:2), 82-100% (1:4) and 81-100% (1:8); in EDTA plasma (n=5) at 90-98%, 81-99% and 87-96%; and in heparin plasma (n=5) at 94-105%, 82-86% and 82-101%. Spike-and-recovery values average 94% across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with respective ranges of 89-105%, 86-102% and 85-103%. The protocol involves a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60-minute biotinylated detection antibody step, a 30-minute HRP-Streptavidin binding step and TMB substrate development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, with absorbance read at 450 nm. Reagents are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
