Human Secreted frizzled-related protein 5 (SFRP5) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies a sandwich ELISA for quantitative measurement of human Secreted frizzled-related protein 5 (SFRP5), a target also known by the synonyms FRP-1b, SARP-3, sFRP-5, FRP1B and SARP3 [C0,S1]. The assay is validated for use with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids, and is specific for natural and recombinant human SFRP5 [S1].

Reported performance figures include a detection range of 1.56-100 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.98 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 3.9% and an inter-assay CV of 7.1% [S1]. Spike-and-recovery averaged 85% (range 80-91%) in serum and 87% (range 81-93%) in plasma [S1]. Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5 per matrix) was 100-110%, 90-100%, 81-93% and 108-116% for serum; 108-118%, 98-108%, 106-118% and 96-106% for EDTA plasma; and 93-102%, 95-106%, 105-115% and 93-104% for heparin plasma [S1].

SFRP5 is a secreted modulator of the Wnt signaling pathway with reported associations to obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease, and the kit is labelled for research use only [S1]. The associated UniProt entry is Q5T4F7, with a molecular weight of 35,563 Da, and the product is positioned within the stem cell research area [S1].
