Human SEC5/EXOC2 ELISA Kit (HUFI08488)

This Assay Genie kit targets endogenous SEC5/EXOC2, a core component of the octameric exocyst complex that tethers post-Golgi secretory vesicles to the plasma membrane during exocytosis. Sec5 (also known as EXOC2) participates in membrane trafficking, cell polarity, and vesicle docking at active secretion sites. Altered expression has been studied in epithelial morphogenesis, vesicular transport disorders, and host-pathogen membrane fusion mechanisms. The immunoassay uses a capture-and-detection antibody configuration with pre-coated microplate wells, providing quantitative readout for human research specimens. The protocol accommodates a 100 uL sample volume per well, with detection via standard absorbance readout. The assay demonstrates high specificity for human EXOC2 with no significant cross-reactivity with homologous rat or mouse exocyst components, making it suitable for targeted exocytosis research.
