The SEC11A protein (signal peptidase complex catalytic subunit SEC11A) is an approximately 21 kDa endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein that forms part of the signal peptidase complex, responsible for cleaving N-terminal signal peptides from nascent polypeptides during translocation into the ER lumen. This assay from Assay Genie supports quantitative measurement of SEC11A in human clinical specimens.

SEC11A has drawn research interest in studies of inflammatory bowel disease, where altered expression in intestinal epithelial cells has been reported, and in functional investigations of ER protein processing and translocation pathways. Researchers examining endoplasmic reticulum stress, signal peptide cleavage, and IBD-related cell biology can use this assay to quantify SEC11A levels in cell-derived and clinical samples.

Each kit contains a pre-coated microplate and recombinant protein standards calibrated for the SEC11A target. Reagent storage at 4°C is recommended for short-term use; consult the protocol booklet for full handling and freeze-thaw guidance.
