Human SBEM/MUCL1 ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies a Sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human SBEM/MUCL1 (also referred to as Mucin-like protein 1, Protein BS106, and small breast epithelial mucin; UniProt Q96DR8). The colorimetric, double-antibody assay is intended for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples of human origin.

Manufacturer-reported performance includes a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and an assay range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions, yielding 88–104%, 89–105% and 86–99% for serum (n = 5); 82–90%, 87–100% and 84–100% for EDTA plasma (n = 5); and 89–99%, 85–100% and 84–97% for heparin plasma (n = 5). Spike-and-recovery was reported as 85–105% (average 98%) for serum, 89–102% (average 97%) for EDTA plasma, and 89–103% (average 98%) for heparin plasma. Kits are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

The protocol involves incubating standards, samples and a zero control on a pre-coated plate at 37°C, sequential binding of a biotin-labelled detection antibody and HRP-streptavidin (SABC), TMB colour development in the dark, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm. According to the manufacturer, SBEM/MUCL1 is a secreted protein implicated in cell adhesion, migration and signalling, with dysregulation linked to cancer, inflammation and autoimmune disorders, supporting its use as a biomarker in research applications.
