Human Sarcosine dehydrogenase, mitochondrial (SARDH) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for quantitative measurement of human Sarcosine dehydrogenase, mitochondrial (SARDH) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit detects both natural and recombinant human SARDH and is intended for research use only. Synonyms for the target include BPR-2, SarDH and DMGDHL1.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.075ng/ml. Intra-assay CV is 5.2% and inter-assay CV is 10.3%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery is 104% (range 98–110%) for serum and 106% (range 100–112%) for plasma.

SARDH is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme (EC 1.5.8.3) with a molecular weight of 105kDa that catalyses the oxidative demethylation of sarcosine and belongs to the GcvT family. Defects in SARDH are associated with sarcosinemia, an autosomal recessive metabolic condition. Dysregulation of SARDH has been linked to prostate cancer, schizophrenia and hepatocellular carcinoma, making the enzyme a candidate biomarker for further study.
