Human SAA/Serum Amyloid A ELISA Kit

Assay Genie supplies a high-quality Sandwich ELISA Kit designed for the quantitative measurement of Serum Amyloid A (SAA) in human samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich ELISA format and is intended for research applications targeting this important inflammatory biomarker.

Detection is colorimetric, with a reported sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL and a working range of 1.563–100 ng/mL. The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, and cell or tissue lysate samples, and the reagents are intended to be stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months. SAA is described as a clinically relevant acute-phase protein associated with inflammation and is used as a biomarker in conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.

The workflow uses a pre-coated microplate and proceeds through reagent equilibration, a primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-streptavidin binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and a stop step with absorbance read at 450 nm. Reported linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions is 84–97% / 82–98% / 87–95% for serum, 81–98% / 84–96% / 94–102% for EDTA plasma, and 88–100% / 87–101% / 82–100% for heparin plasma, with average recoveries of 92% (serum), 92% (EDTA plasma) and 97% (heparin plasma).
