S100A1 is a ~10 kDa EF-hand calcium-binding protein most strongly expressed in cardiac and skeletal muscle, where it regulates calcium handling, contractile function, and mitochondrial energy metabolism. Altered circulating S100A1 levels have been associated with heart failure, ischemic injury, and certain neuromuscular disorders in published cardiovascular research, making this protein a target of interest for biomarker discovery, muscle physiology studies, and cell signalling investigations.
Assay Genie provides this colorimetric quantitative immunoassay configured to measure human S100A1 in serum or plasma specimens and tissue homogenates prepared from cultured cells or biopsy material. The microplate is pre-coated with anti-human S100A1 capture antibody, and bound analyte is detected through a biotinylated secondary antibody, streptavidin–HRP conjugate, and a TMB-based substrate reaction that produces a colour change proportional to the S100A1 concentration present in each well. A recombinant human S100A1 standard is included so that sample values can be interpolated against a reference curve.
Each kit contains a pre-coated microwell plate, reference standard, detection antibody, streptavidin–HRP reagent, wash and dilution buffers, TMB substrate, and stop solution. Reagents should be equilibrated to room temperature before use, the standard should be aliquoted to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and the kit should be stored refrigerated when not in use while protected from light. The protocol supports routine batched quantification of human S100A1 across many specimens in a single run.
Intended for research use only; this product is not validated for diagnostic or clinical applications. Antibody pair specificity is directed toward the human S100A1 sequence, supporting use with human cell culture and tissue lysate preparations, as well as in vitro and in vivo experimental models of cardiovascular disease.
