S100P is a 95 amino acid member of the S100 calcium-binding protein family, originally purified from placenta and implicated as an early biomarker for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. Elevated tissue and circulating S100P concentrations have also been documented in breast, prostate, gastric, lung, and colorectal carcinoma studies, where the protein serves as an indicator of tumor aggressiveness and metastatic potential.

The Assay Genie human S100P ELISA is a quantitative absorbance-based immunoassay supplied as a complete microplate kit with sufficient reagents for 96 individual determinations. The assay is validated for reactivity against human biospecimen matrices and accommodates diverse sample types including tissue homogenates, cell lysates, conditioned cell culture media, and other biological specimens. This breadth of compatibility supports translational workflows spanning in vitro cell culture studies through patient-derived clinical research specimens.

Primary research applications include biomarker quantification for cancer screening investigations, monitoring of tumor progression, and mechanistic studies of S100P-mediated signaling through the RAGE receptor axis and downstream MAPK and NF-kB pathways. The kit is appropriate for research use only laboratory protocols, including correlative measurement alongside western blot and immunohistochemistry analyses.

Each kit contains a pre-coated microwell plate, lyophilized recombinant standards, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, and TMB substrate. Unopened reagents should be stored refrigerated at 4 degrees C before first use, with a standard shelf life of six months when handled according to the enclosed protocol. The plate is read at an absorbance endpoint to yield quantitative results calculated against the supplied calibration curve.
