Human S-adenosylmethionine synthase isoform type-2 (MAT2A) ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantification of human S-adenosylmethionine synthase isoform type-2 (MAT2A). The assay is reactive with human samples and accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Specificity is confirmed against the natural and recombinant human MAT2A protein, also referred to as methionine adenosyltransferase 2, methionine adenosyltransferase II, MAT 2, MAT-II, AdoMet synthase 2, AMS2 and MATA2.

Reported performance figures include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.15ng/ml. Precision is reported as an Intra CV of 6.1% and an Inter CV of 10.3%. Linearity across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions is given as 109-118% down to 93-103% for serum (N=5), 108-118% down to 92-102% for EDTA plasma (N=5), and 92-105% down to 99-99% for heparin plasma (N=5). Recovery in serum averaged 106% (range 100-112%) and in plasma averaged 108% (range 102-114%).

The MAT2A enzyme catalyzes the formation of S-adenosylmethionine from methionine and ATP, with the reaction comprising two steps catalyzed by the same enzyme: formation of S-adenosylmethionine (AdoMet) and triphosphate, followed by hydrolysis of the triphosphate.
