RNF2 (RING finger protein 2), also known as RING1B, is a catalytic E3 ubiquitin ligase subunit of Polycomb Repressive Complex 1 that monoubiquitinates histone H2A on lysine 119, contributing to chromatin compaction and transcriptional silencing of developmental loci.
