The RNH1 protein (also known as Ribonuclease Inhibitor or RI) is a ~50 kDa cytoplasmic protein that binds tightly to pancreatic-type ribonucleases such as RNase A in a 1:1 stoichiometry, protecting cellular RNA from degradation. This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie measures human RNH1 levels in research samples, supporting work in RNA biology studies, oxidative stress research, and investigations of red blood cell maturation and erythropoiesis, where RNH1 expression is notably high.

The kit provides reagents in a microplate format sized for 96 Assays, with components individually packaged and shipped refrigerated. Reconstituted standards should be aliquoted and stored at -20°C for repeated use, while the working detection antibody and streptavidin conjugate remain stable in a refrigerated environment for the duration of the run. Protect the TMB substrate from light exposure and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles of reconstituted materials.

Primary applications include quantifying RNH1 across human-derived research sample types including whole blood derivatives, cell culture supernatants, and tissue homogenates. Researchers studying inflammatory signaling, RNA metabolism, or apoptosis pathways can use this kit to correlate RNH1 expression with disease states or experimental treatments. The procedure follows a standard capture-detection workflow with incubation, wash, and color development steps read on a standard microplate reader.

Each kit includes a pre-coated microplate, biotinylated detection antibody, HRP-streptavidin conjugate, recombinant human RNH1 standard, assay diluent, wash buffer, and TMB substrate. The full protocol runs across several hours at room temperature with minimal hands-on time, delivering quantitative data appropriate for publication-quality analysis in research use only laboratories.
