The riboflavin kinase enzyme (RFK) catalyzes the ATP-dependent phosphorylation of riboflavin (vitamin B2) to flavin mononucleotide (FMN), a critical precursor to flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) used by flavoproteins in cellular energy metabolism.

This Assay Genie ELISA kit provides a quantitative immunoassay workflow for measuring endogenous RFK protein in human-derived samples, including cell lysates and tissue homogenates prepared under non-denaturing conditions. The kit format includes pre-coated plate wells, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and standardized recombinant RFK calibrators sufficient for a full-plate run.

Researchers studying mitochondrial dysfunction, B-vitamin metabolism disorders, or flavin cofactor biosynthesis pathways can apply this assay to lysates from cultured mammalian cell lines and snap-frozen tissue biopsies.

The reagents are intended for research use only and should be equilibrated to room temperature before initiating the protocol. Each kit ships in a protective foil pouch containing desiccant to preserve antibody activity, with a sealed vial of lyophilized standards requiring reconstitution prior to first use. Absorbance values are recorded with a standard microplate reader, and intra-assay precision is supported by the inclusion of calibration curves run in duplicate on every plate.
