Human Reversion-inducing cysteine-rich protein with Kazal motifs (RECK) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA for the quantitative measurement of human Reversion-inducing cysteine-rich protein with Kazal motifs (RECK) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and reacts specifically with natural and recombinant human RECK.

Quoted performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 29pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.3% and inter-assay CV is 7.5%. Spike-and-recovery testing showed an average serum recovery of 94% (range 88-100%) and an average plasma recovery of 96% (range 90-102%). Linearity was demonstrated across serial dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma matrices.

RECK is a GPI-anchored membrane protein (UniProt O95980) that negatively regulates matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) by suppressing MMP-9 secretion and by direct inhibition of its enzymatic activity. RECK also appears to regulate MMP-2 and MT1-MMP, and its down-regulation by oncogenic signals may facilitate tumor invasion and metastasis. The kit is intended for research use only.
