Human Retrotransposon-derived protein PEG10 (PEG10) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the detection of human Retrotransposon-derived protein PEG10 (PEG10) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method, is reactive with human samples, and is reported to have specificity for natural and recombinant PEG10.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.19ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is reported at 5.9% with an inter-assay CV of 9.2%. Linearity is documented across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum recovery averaging 101% (range 95-107%) and plasma recovery averaging 103% (range 97-109%).

PEG10 is a retrotransposon-derived protein implicated in cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis, and abnormal PEG10 expression has been associated with various diseases, including cancer and autoimmune disorders. The protein is reported to prevent apoptosis in hepatocellular carcinoma cells via interaction with SIAH1, to inhibit TGF-beta signaling through the receptor ALK1, and is detected predominantly in the cytoplasm of breast and prostate carcinomas, hepatocellular carcinoma and B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia cells.
