Human Retinol Binding Protein 1, Cellular (RBP1) ELISA Kit

This Assay Genie immunoassay quantifies human cellular retinol-binding protein type I (CRBP-I, encoded by the RBP1 gene), a 21 kDa intracellular carrier that binds retinol and mediates its transport, esterification, and metabolism inside cells. The kit is configured for quantifying CRBP-I in tissue homogenates, cell lysates, and additional research specimen types of human origin.

Investigations supported by this kit include retinoid signaling in hepatic stellate cells, adipocyte vitamin A storage, retinal pigment epithelium biology, and tumor tissue profiling where altered CRBP-I expression has been linked to cancer progression. The kit also supports work on hepatic fibrosis, obesity-related metabolic dysfunction, and ophthalmic disorders. Components include a microplate supplied in removable 8-well strip format, lyophilized standards, biotinylated detection antibody, concentrated diluents and wash buffer, HRP conjugate, substrate, and stop solution.

The standard workflow uses a 50 uL sample volume per well, followed by sequential incubation, washing, color development, and absorbance reading. Reconstituted reagents should be stored at 4°C for short-term use or aliquoted and frozen for extended stability; unused strips must be resealed with desiccant inside the foil pouch.
