Description

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the precise measurement of human Regucalcin (RGN) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is supplied for research use only, with reactivity confirmed for human samples.

Regucalcin is a calcium-binding protein also referred to as Gluconolactonase, Senescence marker protein 30, GNL, SMP-30, RC, or SMP30. It functions as a gluconolactonase with low activity towards other sugar lactones and modulates Ca(2+) signaling and Ca(2+)-dependent cellular processes and enzyme activities. The protein belongs to the SMP-30/CGR1 family, is localized in the cytoplasm, and is preferentially expressed in the liver and kidney, where it may play a role in calcium homeostasis. The listed research area is cardiovascular.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.3%, and an inter-assay CV of 11.5%. Linearity has been validated in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Recovery in serum averages 85% (range 80-91%) and in plasma averages 87% (range 81-93%). The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human Regucalcin, which functions as a monomer with a molecular weight of 33 kDa (UniProt Q15493).
