Human Recoverin ELISA Kit (HUFI08561)

The Assay Genie Recoverin ELISA is built for quantitative measurement of Recoverin in research samples, with applications in autoimmune retinopathy research, paraneoplastic neurological studies, and photoreceptor biology investigations. Recoverin is a ~23 kDa calcium-binding photoreceptor protein; ectopic expression in certain tumors triggers anti-recoverin autoantibodies that cross-react with retinal tissue, producing Cancer-Associated Retinopathy (CAR) and Melanoma-Associated Retinopathy (MAR). Serological measurement supports translational studies of these paraneoplastic syndromes in patient cohorts.

The assay uses a pre-coated microplate with a human-specific capture antibody in a matched antibody pair configuration. Reconstituted standards and samples are pipetted into wells, followed by biotinylated detector antibody and streptavidin-enzyme conjugate; the chromogenic substrate reaction is stopped and absorbance is read on a standard plate reader. Kit components include the pre-coated plate, lyophilized recombinant human recoverin standards, detection antibody, streptavidin conjugate, wash buffer concentrate, assay buffer, substrate, and stop solution.
