Built around the Receptor for Advanced Glycation End-products (RAGE), this quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie enables researchers to measure human RAGE concentrations across multiple specimen types. RAGE is a multiligand pattern-recognition receptor in the immunoglobulin superfamily that propagates inflammatory signaling through NF-κB and MAPK cascades after binding advanced glycation end-products (AGEs), HMGB1, and members of the S100 protein family. Because the receptor sits at the intersection of metabolic stress, innate immunity, and chronic inflammation, RAGE quantification is a recurring readout in diabetes research, vascular biology, neurodegeneration studies, and tumor microenvironment characterization.

The kit is configured to run 96 assays in a microplate layout, an efficient throughput scale for screening patient cohorts, conditioned media, or compound-treatment panels. Each plate is processed with a colorimetric workflow that is compatible with routine absorbance plate readers, and the antibody pair specifically recognizes human RAGE epitopes so that soluble RAGE (sRAGE) and shed extracellular domains can be quantified from blood-derived matrices and from conditioned cell culture supernatant fractions. The protocol is suitable for in vitro research use across academic discovery and pharmaceutical screening settings.

Documented research uses for RAGE ELISA include biomarker profiling in diabetic nephropathy, investigation of AGE-RAGE axis involvement in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative conditions, evaluation of vascular inflammation in atherosclerosis models, screening of anti-inflammatory candidates that disrupt RAGE ligand binding, and assessment of receptor expression in oncology samples. Plates and reagents should be equilibrated to room temperature before initiating the assay, and aliquoting of working solutions is recommended to limit freeze-thaw cycles. Research use only.
