Description

This sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of Human Radical S-adenosyl methionine domain-containing protein 2 (RSAD2), also known by synonyms including Cytomegalovirus-induced gene 5 protein (CIG5), Viperin, and Virus inhibitory protein, endoplasmic reticulum-associated, interferon-inducible. The assay is reactive with human samples and validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids, with specificity toward natural and recombinant human RSAD2.

The kit uses a colorimetric detection method and reports a detection range of 0.78–50 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.072 ng/mL. Precision values are given as an intra-assay CV of 5.8% and an inter-assay CV of 9.3%. Reported average recovery is 88% for serum (range 82–94%) and 90% for plasma (range 84–96%). Linearity across dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 is provided for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples. The associated UniProt entry is Q8WXG1, and RSAD2 is described as an interferon-inducible iron–sulfur (4Fe-4S) cluster-binding antiviral protein that contributes to the cell antiviral state induced by type I and type II interferon and can inhibit a broad range of DNA and RNA viruses.
