Peptide YY (PYY) is a 36-amino acid satiety hormone released by enteroendocrine L-cells of the distal ileum and colon after meals, signaling through hypothalamic Y2 receptors to suppress appetite and slow gastrointestinal transit. This competitive ELISA from Assay Genie quantifies circulating PYY in human serum and in vitro cell culture supernatants, supporting studies in obesity, bariatric medicine, type 2 diabetes, postprandial appetite regulation, and gut-brain axis research. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate with anti-PYY antibody in a competitive format, with bound analyte detected by an HRP conjugate read on a standard microplate reader.
