Human Pyrin (MEFV) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Pyrin (MEFV) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is intended for research use only and supports immunology research, including investigation of autoinflammatory conditions such as Familial Mediterranean Fever. Pyrin — also referenced under the synonyms Marenostrin, MEF and TRIM20 — is a regulator of innate immunity and the inflammatory response, functioning as a platform for the assembly of autophagic machinery and as an autophagy receptor for the degradation of several inflammasome components.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL, with an Intra CV of 5.0% and an Inter CV of 9.5%. Linearity was evaluated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 dilutions: serum (n=5) ranged across the dilutions from 80-90% to 100-111%; EDTA plasma (n=5) from 84-94% to 94-104%; heparin plasma (n=5) from 89-98% to 100-112%. Recovery averaged 98% (range 92-104%) for serum and 100% (range 94-106%) for plasma. Specificity is reported for both natural and recombinant human Pyrin.
