Description

This Sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of PWWP domain-containing protein MUM1 in human samples. It supports a broad range of specimen types, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other liquid samples, making it suitable for diverse research applications in epigenetics, nuclear signalling, and DNA damage response studies.

The kit delivers a detection range of 78.125-5000 pg/mL with a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL, providing the precision needed to study MUM1 expression across biological samples. MUM1 (also known as PCNP/PWWP3A) is a PWWP domain-containing nuclear protein involved in chromatin remodeling, gene regulation, DNA repair, and cell cycle control, and its dysregulation has been linked to multiple diseases, including cancer and immune disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for investigating disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. Sample-to-sample linearity for serum is reported at 88-99% (1:2), 88-98% (1:4), and 87-99% (1:8), with EDTA plasma at 85-101%, 85-102%, and 91-100% across the same dilutions, and heparin plasma at 88-95%, 89-97%, and 83-96%. Recovery performance averages 96% for serum (range 88-103%), 92% for EDTA plasma (range 86-96%), and 95% for heparin plasma (range 89-104%).

The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with a colorimetric detection method. The procedure involves a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, a 60-minute biotin-labelled detection antibody binding step, and a 30-minute HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) incubation, followed by TMB substrate development in the dark for 10-20 minutes before absorbance is read at 450 nm. The kit is intended for research use only and is stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
