Human Pulmonary surfactant-associated protein D (SFTPD) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit manufactured by Assay Genie for the quantitative detection of human Pulmonary surfactant-associated protein D (SFTPD). The assay is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and shows specificity for natural and recombinant human SFTPD.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.056 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.2% and inter-assay CV is 8.1%. Recovery is stated as an average of 93% (range 87–99%) for serum and 95% (range 89–101%) for plasma. Linearity data across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions are provided for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma samples. The kit is supplied with a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, sample and assay diluents, detection reagents A and B, wash buffer, substrate, stop solution and plate sealer.

SFTPD is described as a contributor to lung defence against inhaled microorganisms, organic antigens and toxins, interacting with bacterial lipopolysaccharides, oligosaccharides and fatty acids and modulating leukocyte activity in the immune response. The protein may also participate in the extracellular reorganization or turnover of pulmonary surfactant and binds strongly to maltose residues. The kit is indicated for research use only within the immunology research area.
