Human PTGES/Prostaglandin E Synthase ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human PTGES (Prostaglandin E Synthase) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a double-antibody sandwich format with colorimetric detection, and absorbance is read at 450 nm.

The kit has a reported sensitivity of 0.938 ng/mL and an analytical range of 1.563–100 ng/mL. PTGES is an enzyme involved in the production of prostaglandin E2, a mediator of inflammation and pain; its dysregulation has been linked to inflammatory conditions such as arthritis and asthma, as well as certain cancers. The kit is intended for human samples and falls within the metabolism research area.

Reported linearity for serum (n=5) is 86–104% at 1:2, 92–103% at 1:4 and 86–103% at 1:8, with EDTA plasma at 82–100%, 88–99% and 85–97%, and heparin plasma at 90–98%, 86–95% and 81–100% across the same dilutions. Average recovery values are 93% for serum, 97% for EDTA plasma and 100% for heparin plasma. Components should be stored at 2–8°C, with the kit stable for 12 months under these conditions.
