Human pTAU/pMAPT ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody assay from Assay Genie is designed for detecting levels of phosphorylated tau (pTAU/pMAPT) protein in human samples. Phosphorylated tau, also known as pMAPT (UniProt P10636), plays a role in the pathology of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, where abnormal phosphorylation is associated with the formation of neurofibrillary tangles. The kit is intended for research applications in the field of neuroscience and cell biology.

The assay is compatible with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. It has a sensitivity of 2.813 pg/mL and a measuring range of 4.688-300 pg/mL. Kit components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months. The lyophilized standard and microplate strips are placed in sealed foil bags with desiccant and can be stored for 1 month at 2-8°C or for 12 months at -20°C. The procedure involves primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labeled detection antibody incubation for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin binding for 30 minutes, TMB substrate development in the dark for 10-20 minutes, and absorbance reading at 450 nm after stop solution addition.

Linearity for serum ranges from 82-102% across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions, for EDTA plasma 80-101%, and for heparin plasma 81-92%. Recovery averages are 92% for serum (range 85-100%), 99% for EDTA plasma (range 87-104%), and 92% for heparin plasma (range 85-96%).
