Description

PSMD12 is the 26S proteasome non-ATPase regulatory subunit 12, a structural component of the 19S regulatory particle lid subcomplex. It participates in ubiquitin-dependent protein degradation, the major pathway by which eukaryotic cells clear misfolded, damaged, or short-lived regulatory proteins. Research on this subunit is relevant to studies of neurodegenerative disease, cancer cell proteostasis, and rare developmental syndromes such as Stankiewicz-Isidor syndrome, in which heterozygous loss-of-function variants have been identified.

Assay Genie's Human PSMD12 ELISA Kit provides researchers with a quantitative immunoassay for measuring PSMD12 protein levels in human-derived specimen matrices. The kit is intended for research use only and supports investigations into proteasome assembly, the ubiquitin-proteasome system, and downstream cellular processes including cell cycle progression, stress response, and apoptosis. Reagents are supplied as a complete package sized for 96 Assays in a microplate configuration.

The standard laboratory workflow applies: a capture-antibody pre-coated plate, sequential incubation with calibrators and specimens, biotin-conjugated detection reagent, streptavidin-HRP, and a chromogenic substrate. Researchers should follow the supplied protocol for reagent preparation, recommended sample dilution, and incubation times. Kit components should be stored according to the manufacturer's instructions to preserve antibody activity, and reconstituted reagents should be aliquoted to limit repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
