Human PRSS2 (Protease, Serine, 2) CLIA Kit (HUES00680)

Designed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Trypsin-2 (PRSS2), this sandwich ELISA detects natural and recombinant protein in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is intended for cancer research applications and for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2-2000 pg/ml, sensitivity of 12 pg/mL, intra-assay CV of 4.2% and inter-assay CV of 8.2%. Recovery is 96% (range 90-102%) for serum and 98% (range 92-104%) for plasma, with linearity demonstrated across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. The assay targets UniProt entry P07478, a secreted serine protease of molecular weight 26,488 Da localised to the extracellular space that participates in digestion, extracellular matrix disassembly and collagen catabolic process. Dysregulation of trypsin 2 has been linked to pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer; it may in the ileum be involved in defensin processing including DEFA5, and is associated with hereditary pancreatitis.
