Human Protransforming growth factor alpha (TGFA) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the accurate measurement of protransforming growth factor alpha (TGFA) in human samples. It uses colorimetric detection and is validated for use with human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for natural and recombinant human protransforming growth factor alpha.

The assay delivers a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL with a sensitivity of 8.0pg/mL. Precision is characterised by an intra-assay CV of 3.9% and an inter-assay CV of 6.1%. Recovery in serum averages 96% (range 90-102%) and in plasma averages 98% (range 92-104%).

Protransforming growth factor alpha is a mitogenic polypeptide that binds to the EGF receptor/EGFR and acts synergistically with TGF beta to promote anchorage-independent cell proliferation in soft agar. The protein is localised to the cell membrane as a single-pass type I membrane protein. The kit is intended for research use only and supports investigations in the cancer research area.
