Human Protocadherin-1 (PCDH1) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA Kit for the quantitative measurement of human Protocadherin-1 (PCDH1). The assay is specific to natural and recombinant human Protocadherin-1 and is intended for research use only, with reactivity confirmed in human samples including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

PCDH1 belongs to the protocadherin subfamily of the cadherin superfamily. It is a single-pass type I membrane protein located at cell-cell boundaries and probably at cell-matrix boundaries, and may be involved in cell-cell interaction processes and in cell adhesion. PCDH1 plays a critical role in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, and neural circuit formation, and its dysregulation has been associated with neurodevelopmental disorders and neurological diseases, highlighting its relevance as a biomarker for these conditions.

The ELISA detection method covers a range of 0.312-20ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.1ng/mL. Reported precision values are 6.1% intra-assay CV and 8.1% inter-assay CV. Mean recovery is 108% (range 102-114%) in serum and 110% (range 104-116%) in plasma, and linearity has been validated across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Optical density is read at 450 nm.
