Human Protocadherin-1 ELISA Kit

A colorimetric Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Protocadherin-1 in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The double-antibody sandwich format delivers a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL across a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL, with the kit stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

Validated linearity is 88–102% (1:2), 84–101% (1:4) and 83–98% (1:8) in serum; 92–104%, 83–99% and 85–92% in EDTA plasma; and 86–105%, 82–100% and 84–99% in heparin plasma. Spike-and-recovery averages are 94% in serum (range 87–104%), 94% in EDTA plasma (range 86–103%) and 93% in heparin plasma (range 88–98%). The procedure uses primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotinylated detection antibody for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin for 30 minutes, TMB substrate in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance read at 450 nm.

Protocadherin-1 (PCDH1), also referred to as Cadherin-like protein 1 and Protocadherin-42, is studied in cell biology research for its role in cell-cell adhesion and signalling and its relevance to neural development.
