Description

A high quality Sandwich ELISA Kit developed by Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase receptor Ret (RET). The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is intended for research use only.

RET is a receptor tyrosine-protein kinase involved in numerous cellular mechanisms including cell proliferation, neuronal navigation, cell migration, and cell differentiation upon binding with glial cell derived neurotrophic factor family ligands. It modulates the cell death/survival balance, is required for the molecular mechanisms orchestration during intestine organogenesis, and is involved in the development of the enteric nervous system, renal organogenesis during embryonic life, and the neural crest. Dysregulation of RET signaling has been implicated in several diseases, and the protein is a focus of cancer research.

The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It shows a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 15 pg/mL. Intra-assay CV is reported at 4.1% and inter-assay CV at 7.3%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilution ranges of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery in serum averages 98% (range 92-104%) and in plasma averages 100% (range 94-106%). Specificity is confirmed for natural and recombinant human RET (UniProt P07949).
