Human Prothymosin alpha (PTMA) ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of Human Prothymosin alpha (PTMA) in human serum and plasma samples. The kit is intended for research use only and supports investigation of PTMA biology, a multifunctional protein whose dysregulation has been linked to cancer, autoimmune disorders, and viral infections.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.039ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 5.1% and inter-assay CV is 8.9%. Linearity was demonstrated across serial dilutions: serum 89-99% to 85-96% (1:2 to 1:16), EDTA plasma 100-110% to 98-110%, and heparin plasma 85-93% to 86-97%. Spike-and-recovery averaged 88% (range 82-94%) for serum and 90% (range 84-96%) for plasma.

According to UniProt entry P06454, prothymosin alpha may mediate immune function by conferring resistance to certain opportunistic infections. The protein belongs to the pro/parathymosin family, with two isoforms produced by alternative splicing, and is localized to the nucleus.
