Human Protein Zero, Myelin (MPZ) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie's MPZ ELISA targets Myelin Protein Zero (P0), the principal transmembrane glycoprotein that compacts and stabilizes peripheral nerve myelin, encoded by the MPZ gene on chromosome 1q23.3. The kit supports research into inherited demyelinating peripheral neuropathies, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1B, Dejerine-Sottas syndrome, and congenital hypomyelinating neuropathy, all of which arise from dominant or recessive MPZ mutations affecting myelin compaction. Validated reactivity is human-specific, making the assay appropriate for studies of Schwann cell biology, nerve injury models, and biomarker work using patient-derived tissue homogenates and cell lysates. The microplate arrives pre-coated, with lyophilized standards, detection antibody, wash buffer, and substrate supplied in individual vials; reconstituted components should be refrigerated and protected from light until use.
