Human Protein S100-P (S100P) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of human Protein S100-P (S100P) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, this sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a colorimetric detection method. The kit is intended for research use only and supports cardiovascular research into S100P, a protein implicated in cancer, inflammatory disorders and neurodegenerative conditions.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 32 pg/mL. Intra-assay precision is 4.7% CV and inter-assay precision is 7.1% CV. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human Protein S100-P. Linearity was assessed in serum at dilutions of 1:2 (89-100%), 1:4 (108-118%), 1:8 (84-96%) and 1:16 (100-110%); in EDTA plasma at 110-120%, 108-118%, 102-112% and 97-105%; and in heparin plasma at 89-99%, 96-106%, 106-117% and 100-111%. Average recovery is 88% (range 82-94%) in serum and 90% (range 84-96%) in plasma.

Protein S100-P is a member of the S100 family of EF-hand calcium-binding proteins (UniProt P25815, molecular weight 10,400 Da). The protein localises to the nucleus, cytoplasm, cell projections and microvillus membrane, and is described as a calcium sensor that contributes to cellular calcium signalling through calcium-dependent interactions with proteins including EZR and PPP5C.
