S100A6 is a calcium-binding protein that plays a role in regulating cell cycle progression, cell differentiation, and cell migration, with abnormal expression implicated in cancer, inflammatory disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases.

Performance specifications include a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.183 ng/mL. Precision is supported by an Intra CV of 6.8% and Inter CV of 8.4%. Linearity has been demonstrated in serum (86–109%), EDTA plasma (80–118%), and heparin plasma (90–115%) across dilutions from 1:2 to 1:16. Recovery averages 101% in serum (range 95–107%) and 103% in plasma (range 97–109%). The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human Protein S100-A6.

S100A6 (UniProt P06703, molecular weight 10,180 Da) is a member of the S-100 family that may function as a calcium sensor and contribute to cellular calcium signaling, the reorganization of the actin cytoskeleton, and cell motility. The protein binds two calcium ions cooperatively. Subcellular localisation includes the nuclear envelope, cytoplasm, and the cytoplasmic side of the cell membrane.
