Description

Assay Genie supplies this Sandwich ELISA Kit for the detection of human Protein phosphatase 1 regulatory subunit 14B (PPP1R14B) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit uses a colorimetric detection method, is intended for research use only and recognises both natural and recombinant human PPP1R14B (also known by the synonyms Phospholipase C-beta-3 neighbouring gene protein, PLCB3N and PNG).

Performance characteristics stated by the manufacturer include a detection range of 31.2-2000pg/mL and a sensitivity of 7.8pg/ml. Intra-assay CV is 4.9% and inter-assay CV is 8.5%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5). Recovery has been assessed in serum (average 99%, range 93-105%) and plasma (average 101%, range 95-107%).

PPP1R14B is an inhibitor of PPP1CA, exhibiting over 50-fold higher inhibitory activity when phosphorylated, and is localised to the cytoplasm. The protein (UniProt Q96C90) has a molecular weight of 15,911 Da. Dysregulation of PPP1R14B has been implicated in cancer, cardiovascular disorders and neurological conditions, making the kit a tool for researchers studying cellular signalling and disease pathogenesis.
